DEEP HOLE'S MYSTERIOUS VOICES: The Croton River below the old Nikko Inn — about 200 feet long, 75 feet wide and 50-80 feet deep, appearing to be a cave or fissure. A 1907 Croton Journal article reported: "people who have been obliged to pass the abutments state that they have heard voices of a man and woman, but only at the hour between 12 and one midnight."

THE HARMON PLAYHOUSE GHOST: Built c. 1908, later owned by psychiatrist Dr. Samuel Kahn who had studied with Freud. Hans Holzer, Austrian-American parapsychologist and author of 120+ books, conducted seances there in the 1940s. In 1975, talent agent Mike Martineau and model Lucy experienced lights turning on, mirrors smashing, doors unlocking. They learned to coexist with their "ghostly housemates."
